Aaron loves that he can contribute to our games in a variety of ways, while working with truly excellent people. Some days he makes orks explode. Other days he draws, paints, and learns all sorts of useful technical skills.
He started in the field of Saturday morning cartoons, which is a great training ground for artists looking to eventually get into games. His advice to job seekers: “Making your way in the world today takes everything you’ve got. Focus on having a skill that is in demand, and specializing enough to get your foot in the door.”
Life at Roadhouse is never boring. There is always something new – a challenge to consider, people to meet, problems to solve. Every day, she is inspired by the creativity and the dedication everyone has for our projects.
For job seekers, she has some advice for your application. When applying for jobs, be sure to read and respond to the application requirements. Are we asking for a resume, cover letter or your input on a particular problem or challenge? Be sure to acknowledge and answer any questions posed. You wouldn’t ignore the question if we were in an interview, so why would you ignore an opportunity to give a good first impression? .
Chris looks forward to the community of smart people, the conversations and debate and that he gets to learn something new every day. There is trust in the studio that everyone is pushing our games and our experiences to be the best they can be.
His advice to you, job seeker: Are you working on your own projects yet? Have you tried and failed a hundred times over? Can you show me your failures and what you learned and how it impacts how you approached your next challenge? I want to see what you’ve done on your own so far and where you are taking it next. Show me what you are passionate about and how you are channeling that for success!
