As Roadhouse’s Audio Director and Music Producer, Moon enjoys producing inspired sound effects and music on a daily basis, plus working with all of the awesome development teams. In his spare time, he plays Vancouver Metro mens winter soccer and coaches his son’s soccer and baseball teams.
His advice to job seekers is to be truthful in selling your abilities and talents, and don’t be over confident going to interviews.
For Lillian, the most exciting thing about coming to work every day is working with people who share her passion and help make Roadhouse more than just a place to work, but a second home. The high standards, abilities and intellect displayed by the people here, help inspire her to improve her skills and expand her knowledge.
For prospective employees, Lillian suggests becoming familiar with Roadhouse’s games. If you have feedback (good or bad) or find issues, come prepared to give suggestions on how to make improvements.
The fun and intelligent group of developers at Roadhouse keeps Galen motivated, even when things get tough. He also likes to work on personal game projects to try new ideas. Often the experimentation he does on these projects eventually become relevant to the professional projects at work and it pays off to have had the experience.
Galen suggests that the best way to pitch your skills is by actually creating a game. We value generalist skills and showing that you can put together a game yourself, even a very simple one, demonstrates you have an understanding of multiple areas of development and how they fit together.
