The culture here at Roadhouse is a breath of fresh air. Everyone is motivated and excited to see the projects we work on reach their maximum potential and succeed in the market. We get to come in to work to create products we are passionate about, and at the end of the day we get to see the result of our hard work.
For job seekers: It’s easy to tell when someone’s passionate about their work – it shows in the quality of their designs. Be excited and knowledgeable about the product you are putting out. If you’re currently unemployed, be sure to work on personal projects! Personal projects can enhance your portfolio, grant you experience, and will give you something to talk about/reference when you’re answering interview questions.
I LOVE working at Roadhouse because I can feel ‘teamwork’ everyday, like a basketball game: someone passes the ball to you; you catch it, and pass it to another team members; GOAL!!! It’s not just because of talented and passionate team members around me, also ‘trust/being trusted’. This is also a platform that you can share what you just learnt with someone else and our gurus would like to transfer their knowledge and experiences.
If you want to join Roadhouse, here’s Ivy’s advice: first, Roadhouse is the coolest place to work ever! Second, love what you are doing; believe your real thinking and do it! Third, practice your muscle and get ready to catch and pass the ball. Fourth, welcome aboard. 😀
Our office is open plan, and so is the attitude and approach of the company owners. That’s the thing which makes working at Roadhouse different from anywhere else: open plan physical space and open plan headspace. Almost everything is shared and there are very few secrets. We have a weekly show-and-tell (with pop, beer and snacks of course) during which the execs share news of all sorts – good and bad. Teams also get to show their games, and there’s always Q+A. People are open with their questions, because they know the lads will be open with their answers. It’s cool.
The advice for people applying to work at Roadhouse is to love what you do and make sure it shows. Also, of course, embrace the open plan concept! We want you because you’re awesome, and because you can help us become a better company. If you do get the job, then make sure you check your conception of company politics at the door – it really is very different here!
